wow... just wow!
KA can write just about anything!!!
This story was so good, I fell in-love with the characters instantly.
Finnie wanted the ultimate adventure and oh boy did she find it! Sent to a parallel universe where every one of us has a twin, she never thought that just by getting there her future would be completely changed. Upon arrival she is set off to marry The Drakkar, after a boring to death ceremony (LOL) the guy drags (literally) her away and dumps her in his dusty and dirty hunting cabin and leaves her there for weeks! She realizes The Drakkar was not happy to marry her “twin” since the woman was a lesbian! Too bad Finnie actually thinks her new-found broody husband is oh so hawt!
Of course, then everything changes and they actually fall for each other hard!
The first half of the book was just so funny, and adorable, super lovable and the interactions between Finnie and Frey had me LOL-ing. She was completely oblivious to her innate curiosity and seeing her trying to act as the real princess was a joy.
The actions and betrayal/trust issues Frey delivers during the story were harsh; probably if I had read a hero doing those things in a contemporary novel I would say “major asshole” but…. I kind of understood him even if the second one… was way over the line….. but… everything gets settled and during the book you can glimpse what the other stories will be about.
A modern fairy tale with a great HEA!
