Much better than the first. I am hoping these books don’t share the same fate as the marriage bargain ones, that after the third, all others feel the same…..
Sweet, adorable, sexy and swoony.
Nerds are overrated.
The second book in the series focuses on Kennedy, the social manager of Kinnections. She is scared, afraid to love, she just goes with the flow and never gets serious with her dates; mindless hook-ups. She struggled as a teen, bullying, weight problems, the works.
Then comes Nate; he’s clueless in the dating department, he needs Kinnections because he want’s to find a wife. Nate is an engineer, a rocket scientist (literally); a sweet, kind soul in need of a serious make-over.
Kennedy makes it her goal to find him a wife; he’s her ultimate project. The problem is, the moment Nate meets her, he set his eyes on Ken and he will do anything to have her.
The setting on this book is very similar to the first; while reading sometimes I felt I was reading the same story. Further, into the book I realized it was more substantial. What made it worth it was the hero. Nate was just adorable, kind, intelligent, sweet and clueless at times. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy, proud of himself and secure. He just needed to get his head out of the gutter because he was kind of a workaholic and too blunt and honest with the ladies, therefore he sometimes said the wrong things… totally wrong (and this was funny as hell).
The whole make-over process was a constant back and forth between Nate and Ken; the easy banter and conversations between them were fun to read, and the topics discussed were amazingly forwarded, important things, trendy things; they were perfect for each other. Obviously the magic is ever present…Kate touches them and is zapped into oblivion.
I also loved that Kennedy was a total closet nerd!!! I loved how Nate was this beta male with a hidden alpha who came forward with her… and the sexy smexy times. Nate was also a golfer… a nerd golfer who took notes! LOL.
There wasn’t much that bothered me, just the part about the collar (you’ll get it if you read it) I really think it was overboard and mainly ridiculous. It could have been handled differently, I don’t know instead of the shock, maybe just a red light or something.
Overall, the book is really good, sweet, sexy and fun. And of course it sets the premise for the next story and continues setting the path to the one I am really waiting for, Gen’s story (and maybe her twin)…. She is so not getting married with that god awful doctor… no no no no she is meant for her bad boy best friend!!!
I recommend this book if you like traditional romance with a spark!!! And you don’t mind some uncomfortable thingies here and there….ARC provided by publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
