Since starting the blog made reviewing a joint effort, I am just gonna quote my dearest friend and collaborator: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/894692329?book_show_action=false&page=1
My exact same feelings about the book are mentioned there, plus is a great review.
What I want to add in order to make this about my own head and feelings is the following:
This book was like reading the illegitimate child of a threesome between 50Shades, Crossfire and the Stark Trilogy. It has strong similarities with all of the aforementioned, especially regarding timelines, descriptions, friends, jobs and, near the end you find out we have a Trevor Maddox-ish guy..???
The book is not bad; I actually liked it but I just couldn’t find the reason for the “love” except physical attraction. Both characters knew next nothing from each other aside from Daniel’s “sweetness” which was really swoony, nothing else made me fall for him, because we didn’t get to know him. And Hayley… I didn’t find redeemable qualities in her… because I also wasn’t able to know her; you just get glimpses of her strange personality and lots of inner thoughts written in “italic”. Why did Daniel fell in love with her.. I don’t know, because I didn’t feel she earned love except for the sex and being hot and her witty remarks!!
We can hope to get more depth in the next book!!! Going to it right away!
