UPDATE WITH A SIDE NOTE UP HERE: (I STILL LOOOOVE IT)
OK. There is sth I need to say: I love how KA writes a second chance, I love to read about men and women my age, or a little older but... babies at 38, 39, 40? I mean of course it happens, but we never get to read about the health risks around it and KA never mentions anything, they just get pregnant (in a lot of her books) and they pop up like these women where in their twenties or early thirties. So.... I'm just saying it is a fact of life and it is science, there are serious health risks especially if it's the first child.
Another KA Jewel!
Tanner Layne is edged in my heart and soul!
“If you are nothing else in this life, be wise, be compassionate, and be strong because those three are everything”.
This book was awesome. I shouldn’t have waited so long to read the series. These are long and with lots of detail and sub-plots but they are great.
Golden Trail is no different; we have a second chance love story. Family interactions that are completely heart-warming; charming teen-age kids being the lovable secondary characters which are Layne’s two teenage sons; lots of bonding and friendships, and a beautiful epilogue! Of course, we have the sub-story, which was superbly written, investigation wise and highly believable! Some authors are good in writing suspense, others are skilled in romance. One author pulling both of those into one book? The answer is very few and KA is definitely one of them.
And as always, the phrases, the words, the deep emotional aspects of life, the changes after so many years; regrets… remembering everything and never letting go… Ohhh so nice!
“Epic Bro!..... if you read it you will LOL too.
And again, in that KA fashion, and writing style we have the favorite words: posse, activate, brief, Yo! You get me? Bad-ass, babe, Ma, Later, etc, etc, etc… Loved it..
The scene when Rocky is teaching To kill a Mockingbird was moving, lovely and beautiful.
I could write and write about everything I liked about this book and KAs’ books in general, and…. Probably I will someday write a long article about it, because KAs’ novels are like a sub-genre, a cult read, another dimension and, hopefully she will stay true to her style, because I really don’t want her to fall under the “publishing world” sometimes ridiculous guidelines.
